These majestic birds (the only Australian stork) frequent the semi-tropical and tropical areas of Northern and Eastern Australia.They are a solitary bird and are usually seen quietly fishing and fossicking in shallow waters. Although it is possible to see these birds in many areas of Northern Australia, they are particularly associated with the Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory.
